But what really matters is that I get what I pay for and then some: I get reward points every time I recharge my account on their website and I save much when texting to Mexico because Mingo, unlike my previous carrier, does not charge extra for international texts. I got my Samsung M810 about a month ago and already, Mingo is giving me the biggest returns for my buck. At $20 monthly, I get unlimited texts on top of the 200 airtime minutes. I’m not sure about howmy friends get the same perks fromothernetwork carriers, but Mingo’s service is definitely priced well for my budget. Indeed, quality service doesn’t have to come with higher price tags.

Yesterday, I got my daughter the Android LG Optimus on a $30 monthly prepaid plan with 1000 minutes, 1000 texts, and 100MB of web data. An unlimited internet plan would have sealed the deal perfectly but with all the savings I get and the international texts that don’t come with additional charges, I just can’t complain at all. Mingo tops my list as the best prepaid service provider in my area.

No extra charge for international texts: 5 stars. Unlimited calling and texting plans: 4 stars. Data plans: 3 stars. Truth is, I don’t need that much data on my phone, and I don’t need that much calling minutes or SMS per month. But I do regularly send and receive international texts to and from my wife in Canada. So that leaves 5 stars for Mingo when it comes to my personal needs.

Mingo does seem to be a good choice when it comes to getting a prepaid service in my area. Sometimes, I experience dropped calls during my travels but generally, fifty dollars’ worth of monthly unlimited calls and texts are all that I need to keep me going, plus therefurbished Blackberry Tour I got for only $39.99 has been working perfectly for about a year now. Two thumbs up!

Mingo Wireless’s sweet deals are enough reasons to make me steer clear of other carrier’s hidden charges.Just when pay-as-you-go services were supposed to be simple,I ranted at my previous carrier’s unexpectedly rude customer service agent for some credit card charges I didn’t expect in the first place.With Mingo, I am charged as advertised with no fuss whatsoever. Yes, I did get my HTC Hero for about 399 dollars, but without signing up for contracts, I have the freedom to choose whatever plan I want.

I’ve been burned by overage charges before and realized I didn’t have to spend a fortune for quality service. Now that I switched to Mingo, it was a pleasant surprise to know that I can check my actual usage and call details on Mingo’s website, and I don’t even have to brave the stores to top-up my account because Mingo’s website does that for me. Also, it’s not every day that I find such great customer service for a prepaid service provider. Five stars for Mingo!

Even if I don’t end up consuming as much airtime and text messages in a single day, I’m a bit disappointed about how some networks try to rip you off by charging your account for unnecessary frills. The best thing about Mingo is that I can check each call detail online. At the end of the day, I pay only for what I get and that’s all that matters.

I’ve been on Mingo Wireless for more than six months already. So far, so good! I’ve had no warranty issues on my phone, coz I didn’t need to have any. I just wish Mingo offered Blackberry Torch 9850. But all in all, Mingo’s pay-as-you-go options make me do more with less. I love Mingo!
