Welcome to the new mingo Wireless, powered by Sprint.
Why Sprint, you might ask? The answer lies in flexibility.
Our previous underlying provider, Verizon Wireless, had a great wireless network, no doubt about it. However their back end systems didn’t allow us to provide the advanced features and flexibility that we wanted to give our customers. Data access was also ridiculously expensive even on the wholesale side, meaning that we couldn’t provide the number one cool feature available to today’s high-end phones: access to the full, unfettered web.
With Sprint, all of this has changed. We’re now working with a company that’s as flexible as we are, that prices their advanced services at low wholesale rates that we can pass right on to you, our valued members, and that is always on the lookout for ways to make their phones and network even better. For example, Sprint is rolling out 4G (not just 3G) in dozens of markets and will be letting us in on the action sooner rather than later. Verizon will have 4G of their own eventually, but from what we were seeing we would never have been able to get the service.
How does the flexibility made available by Sprint affect you? First, we’re able to offer innovative plans (like webGO anytime) that so far nobody else has done. Second, we’re able to keep our per-minute, per-text and per-megabyte rates low across the board, giving you the most bang for your wireless buck. Third, we can get high-end phones, like the Android-powered HTC Hero, and pair them with our no-contract, no-hassle service. Fourth, we can take your suggestions from mingoLabs and comments from mingoTalk and use them to transform our service into something that serves the needs of our customers even better than before.
We know that for some people the switch to Sprint will mean that they don’t have cell coverage in the places they work or live. For others, our phone lineup isn’t quite wide enough (sorry, no Droids here). We understand that those customers will need to go elsewhere; no hard feelings. That’s the great thing about prepaid wireless: there are no contracts to tie you down and you can choose the provider that best meets your needs.
